Westminster – Of Politicians and Pubs
Celebrate all things British with this marvellous walk starting opposite the Houses of Parliament and ending at the regal architecture of Victoria railway station. Magnificent views of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament can be had by turning left from Westminster station and walking on to Westminster Bridge. On the way back, why not have a look at Westminster Abbey, where the Queen was crowned, Prince Charles and Lady Diana were married and just recently William and Kate were also married (the confetti has been cleaned up!).
The best pubs in Westminster and some of London’s most famous icons in one short walk!
A short diversion will take you to Green Park and some jolly splendid views of Buckingham Palace. This walk is 1.2km and should take you less than 2 hours to complete, although you may stay longer in some of these charming pubs, particularly if it is raining!
London Underground (Tube) lines are:
District Line, Circle Line
Interesting point on this walk:- A few of the pubs on this walk have divisions bells, so that MPs can get back to the ‘Commons’ to vote after downing a few pints!
