The hub-bub and bustle of Camden Town can be full-on during London’s warm summer months. Full of tourists and Londoners alike, supping an ale on the canal side or in one of the famous music venues. But where can you go to get away from all that noise and all thoses tourists. Well, we have a very nice answer for you. Take a wander up to the Pineapple in Kentish Town.
A quiet get away from the tourists of Camden
Nestled behind the main road leading out of London is this rather nice pub on a suburban residential street. This is not one of those pubs you will walk past and say hey that looks good, as there is really no reason why you would be walking up this street, unless you had friends there. With a traditional appeal and classic Victorian architecture, this is very much a locals pub. The lounge area is functional with some nice nooks to seat yourself. Wandering through to the back there is a conservatory, a very English glass room bolted to the back of the pub, providing generous seating and standing room under-cover. Then there is the rather cute garden tucked in behind high brick walls.
The Pineapple – Kentish Town
The Pineapple is a great pub and certainly earns its place as one of London’s Best pubs. But there is more to this pub than meets the eye. Last time we visited we were lucky enough to stumble upon the Pineapple’s beer festival, a marvellous event indeed. With about 50 barrels of beer racked up for our pleasure in the garden, it was a fantastic opportunity to sample some local and regional ales.
